Settlement Capital Corporation Review:
The question you’re asking yourself is, should I sell my structured settlement or annuity payments to Settlement Capital Corporation? After reading through the complaints here is what we found. One of the main complaints with the Better Business Bureau had to do with the length of time the transactions take. This is because when dealing with transferring payment rights of structured settlement annuities (as compared to simply retirement or investment annuities) a judge is required to sign off on the transfer, in the best interest of the payment seller.
There was also some confusion over a “held back” provision pending final confirm of transfer of ownership from annuity issuer. The transaction was a lengthy one and the annuity payments that had originally agreed to be transferred to Settlement Capital had continued to go to the annuitant, thus the need for the purchase agreement to be amended.
Their website does a nice job of providing resources and information on the structured settlement process and clarifies the differences between structured settlement companies and the factoring of structured settlement payments.
There are several different types of annuities and Settlement Capital Corp. has a particular interest in purchasing single premium annuity payments. This investment annuity program differentiates Settlement Capital from other funding companies who often deal primarily in structured settlement payments.
Should I Sell My Annuity to Settlement Capital?
So, should I sell my annuity to Settlement Capital or not? Having read all the reviews and conducting due diligence on the company, we would feel comfortable getting a quote from Settlement Capital Corporation. Their Annuity Buy-Out program is something to consider if you are selling annuity payments for a variety of reasons. Selling an annuity is much easier than structured settlements payments and does not require a judge signing off.
